About us

The Lighthouse Design Partnership LLP is an independent architectural and lighting design consultancy formed in 2007. We strive to produce exciting and innovative bespoke architectural and lighting design solutions for all our clients. Over the years we have been involved in a wide variety of projects for both private and commercial clients - we have included a selection of recent projects in the website which will hopefully provide an indication of the breadth of our experience. We are happy to undertake commissions including both lighting and architectural design or equally only one of the disciplines. Whatever the project, we aim to add value where we can and will tailor our design service to a client's requirements.

David Moore - MSc BSc (Hons)

Partner

David has a wealth of experience working in the independent lighting design sector. He has designed and managed numerous lighting design projects in the UK and overseas including projects in Dubai, Japan and New York. Projects range in scale from the lighting of an individual home to the master-planning and implementation of public realm urban lighting schemes. The diversity of projects in which he has been involved has allowed him to develop a real understanding of the way in which light can be used to enhance both interior and exterior environments on a human level. His strong practical and technical skills complement his design sensitivity and he is always keen to keep up with latest developments in lighting. He has served as a member of the Editorial Board of the international journal, Lighting Research & Technology published by The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers and The Society of Light & Lighting. David has also served as an expert witness for lighting at HMI Planning Enquiries and has been responsible for numerous environmental impact assessments for local authorities. David is also a trained Architectural Technologist having studied at Thames Valley University.

Nikki Moore BA (Hons) B Arch RIBA

Partner

Nikki qualified as an Architect in 1999, having studied for her BA (Hons) and B Arch degrees at Manchester University.  Nikki has a wealth of experience in the residential design sector, having over 20 years experience practicing within Oxfordshire and the local area. After qualifying as an Architect, Nikki continued to work for David Parker Architects in Watlington, Oxfordshire for 5 years before moving to DPDS in 1999 based in Old Town, Swindon. Nikki was promoted to Associate Director of the practice in 2000 and was soon responsible for the design and management of numerous architectural design projects both in the local area and throughout the UK. These were primarily in the residential sector, both for private and developer clients, although she has worked on a variety of projects ranging from a swimming pool for a private school in Gloucester through to the refurbishment of a restaurant in Newquay, Cornwall for Jamie Oliver’s ‘Fifteen’. The residential projects have ranged in scale from the design of individual one-off dwellings to the master-planning of large scale housing developments such as the ‘Swindon Front Garden’ Development, a scheme for up to 4,500 new homes. Having practiced in and around Oxfordshire for over 20 years, Nikki has accumulated a wealth of experience in the residential design sector and has developed a deep understanding of the local vernacular style. Under this backdrop, the practice has a very successful track record in securing approvals for  housing developments both within Conservation Areas and also within the context of Listed Buildings.
